Yonge & St. Clair

About The Neighbourhood

Yonge and St. Clair is a vibrant neighbourhood and a popular spot for young professionals who gravitate to the area’s condos. More established families and empty nesters reside primarily on the side streets east and west of Yonge Street.

During the day, hoards of business people make their way to the office towers that occupy the main intersection. The four corners of Yonge and St. Clair are currently subject to a number of rejuvenation projects. Come evening, the neighbourhood comes to life with local pubs, sports bars, specialty eateries and higher-end restaurants that attract locals and visitors from neighbouring communities.

For mind and body engagement, there are local community centres, sports clubs, a public library, and numerous destinations for casual walkers and runners alike, including the nearby Kay Gardner Beltline Trail, David Balfour Park, the Rosehill Reservoir, and the famous Mount Pleasant Cemetery. There are also numerous gyms, yoga studios and running groups at hand to support the active lifestyle of Yonge and St. Clair’s residents.

Transportation

The St. Clair subway station is conveniently located within walking distance of all homes, giving residents easy access to the Yonge-University subway line. There’s also the St. Clair streetcar, which runs from Yonge Street to Keele Street. Operating on a track that’s separated from regular traffic thanks to a raised curb, this route has fewer stops than most, adding efficiency to east-west travel.

By car, downtown is approximately 10 minutes away and Toronto’s highways and expressways can be reached in about 20 minutes.
